How does the LGPL license work, when embedding CSound (using CSound API as a synthesis engine)? Do I need to distribute the full CSound API source code with my program? -- View this message in context: http://csound.1045644.n5.nabble.com/How-does-the-LGPL-work-when-embedding-CSound-using-CSound-API-as-a-synthesis-engine-tp5747388.html Sent from the Csound - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. No, the Csound API is already distributed, along with the source code for Csound. If you link to Csound dynamically, you are free to place your code under any licence of your choice. Actually if you personally distribute LGPL software you should keep a copy of the source code of that product because when asked you must distribute the LGPL component source code. It is the responsibly of the distributor to provide source code of GPLd and LGPLd software components. Do you have to distribute your own source code? No. Do you have to distribute the LGPLd source code of others that you really upon and distributed in binary form? Yes if asked. This one of the reasons why Debian explicitly distributes SRC packages. Abram On Feb 27, 2016 8:12 AM, "Victor Lazzarini" <Victor.Lazzarini@nuim.ie> wrote:
