Saw that at NAMM in Anaheim last week. Cool gadget. Not bad, not bad at all. -pbs ===================================== --- zappfinger@GMAIL.COM wrote: From: Richard |

We've got a number of them at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama I've tried them a bit with Max and they work nicely. They have a slightly arbitrary voice to midi channel allocation so not always easy to know which channel things will come in on. The resolution could be higher too (Midi) and sometimes it feels like the rubber is bunching up under your fingers (I'm probably pressing too hard) but all in all I think there is a lot of potential. Thanks for the info. It looks like an ideal controller for us Seasounders... Richard On 02/02/16 10:33, Nye Parry wrote:

I have one of these, and there are some exciting possibilities.
It's new, so there are a few bugs and idiosyncrasies, as Nye has pointed out. I've also had a LOT of stuck notes -- with Max, Logic, and Roli's standalone software synth Equator -- that I don't see with more conventional controllers,
where the midi implementation is more straightforward. Haven't had a chance to dig into it with Csound yet. I expect great things as this matures, though.
Cheers,
Chris

Equator was built with Juce, that was also acquired by Roli. I think
Cabbage is also built with Juce, but it uses Csound as audio engine. Equator uses the audio engine that comes with Juce. Richard On 02/02/16 15:34, Christopher Watts

It's true that Cabbage does use JUCE but JUCE doesn't come with an audio processing engine which is why I use Csound ;) Any sounds created with any of the ROLI synths are custom built for their products. JUCE is just a framework for developing apps. On 2 February 2016 at 15:32, Richard <zappfinger@gmail.com> wrote:
