possible problem with CsoundQt on Mac with nchnls=4 (8)

Subjectpossible problem with CsoundQt on Mac with nchnls=4 (8)
I just tested some revised Ambisonics examples for the FLOSS manual.

Normally I'm using on my mac CsoundQt with nchnls=2 or 6. I did not have any problems with CsoundQt with these settings. In case that the surround interface is not connected I simply get only two channels played.

In the examples for Ambisonics nchnls was normally set to 4 or 8. If I play the examples without changing to nchnls=6 CsoundQt starts to do some output for some tenth of milliseconds and then get stuck. When you click on 'stop' the 'apple ball' appears. I have to kill it e.g. via forcing quit in the activity monitor.

I'm not sure if this is a general problem or a problem with my Mac

any of the examples you sent me to check (but I had the problem before already) use e.g. 05B12 for which I put o.k. on the check list I sent you before (ok, because I changed it to my default which is nchnls=6 before testing)
cheers,

Karin

hi karin -

i could test this now, and have no problem to run the examples either
with 4, 6, or 8 channels (osx 10.10).

i suppose your problems have something to do with your audio
configuration / soundcard. perhaps you can change the RT Audio Module,
for instance from portaudio callback to blocking.

if you find a problem with one of the modules, and the problem is also
on the command line, it might be a bug with this particular module.

cheers -
