I have no idea why this setting is changed by the app. Might have something to do with the audio driver code. I'll look at that. I'd definitely like that as a feature - if I am using csound I don't want audible alerts from other apps (I may have the volume up for a quiet instrument, or regardless I don't want alert sounds interfering with my composition process). That's a good point. But it should probably be a setting under the user's control. and it would be polite to revert the setting change when the Csound app exits -- if it does.
