Subjectthat old 'resource busy or unavailable error'
Are there any good tricks? -- aside from turning the critter entirely off and restarting -- for recovering one's audio after some unwise experiment has lost it to some unknown alternate universe?

(This happens to me fairly often using alsa on linux.)

If you use jack instead of alsa, this will not happen.
