Yes, there is an issue filed for this in the tracker. A <string, float> map would be simple, but making it generic for types gets a little more complicated. Also, a literal syntax for specifying maps needs further research. Certainly something we should talk about at the Csound conference during the panel session (hopefully others can join in via IRC) and something to discuss further in this list. We will want to get everyone's input at the conference to help establish goals and directions for csound 7 and 8.
