hi,
under Tools --> Options are all the settings for Csound can be made.
There is a Blue manual and under the chapter: Setting Up Program Options,
that should explain everything.

I found that Blue works best with the Sun Oracle Java version (1.8.xx at the
moment).

Blue should work with Csound pretty much automatically on OSX and
Windows if you use Csound installer. Settings are in the Options menu
under Tools on Windows and Linux, and under the Preferences option
under the application menu on OSX.

I see the manual is out of date for the program options, and it shows
older screenshots. I've added an issue and will look at fixing that
up for the next release.

Blue does not come with a csound installation of its own, so you'll
need to install Csound separately. You can download a Csound
installer for your Operating System at:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/csound/files/csound6/Csound6.05/

What OS are you using? (Windows? Linux? OSX?) If on Windows or OSX,
when you go to that page, it should say something like "Looking for
the latest version? Download csound6.05-OSX-universal.dmg (132.4 MB)"
(that's for OSX, it would be a link to the Windows installer if you go
to the page on a Windows machine)

I am on windows and I have already downloaded csound, Ive downloaded blue and
I've downloaded Python and I still don't know what to do, I think it would
be best if we started from scratch what would you suggest I do to get csound
to work on my computer? And it's ok if it might not involve blue. I just
want some help a strait forward tutorial or directions for getting started
:) because I am just getting frustrated and confused

you have already downloaded and also installed csound? in that case, the
first thing you should do, i guess, is open a terminal, type the command
csound, and hit enter.

if you get a list of messages ending in some thing like:

flag defaults: csound -s -otest -b256 -B1024 -m135
Csound Command ERROR:	insufficient arguments
end of score. overall amps: 0.0
overall samples out of range: 0
0 errors in performance
Elapsed time at end of performance: real: 0.000s, CPU: 0.000s

you're set to go.

if, on the other hand, you get something like command not found or
whatever, it means there was a problem with the installation.

so i'd suggest you just type csound at the terminal and report the results.
