Hi All, I've placed two test builds for OSX and Window of the latest csound~ for Max at: Windows: http://kunstmusik.com/csound~_1.1.3.exe OSX: http://kunstmusik.com/csound~_v1.1.3.pkg The OSX installer is modified to install into the default location to work with Max 7. Both have some fixes for issues reported in the issues tracker. Please give these a try and report any issues to the csound issue tracker. Also to note, the OSX version should work with 32-bit and 64-bit Max, while the Windows version should only work with 32-bit (as the Windows build of Csound is only 32-bit). Hi Steven! thanks. When can we hope for a 64 bit for Windows? On Tue, Jun 30, 2015 at 7:22 PM, Steven Yi <stevenyi@gmail.com> wrote: Hi All, |

To be honest, I have no idea. It would be great if someone would contribute time to build Csound for 64-bit Windows and document the process to make it easily reproducible for others. I also think we should investigate building with MSVC again, and ideally, we should be look to be able to target the Windows app store. (I'm very interested in their Universal apps in Windows 10, where one app should run on desktop and phone). I don't know what's involved there either. I have compiled instructions for building with mingw64 but my build falls short of Mike's 32bit package in terms of supported plugin opcodes. I'm currently taking a short break from work but once I get back I'm going to try Peiman's latest efforts with my 64bit build. Hopefully it will work. A build of Csound for 64 bit CPU architecture on Windows is on my to do list. I have not yet decided whether to use MinGW or MSVC++. I have both compilers installed. When this works the 64 bit build will be the default on Windows, most music software is now primarily targeted at 64 bits. Rory, how do you get a 64 bit build? I've been compiling with mingw64. Most dependencies build ok. When I get back to my desk I'll take a look and see which ones beat me. I stayed away from fluid synth and the fltk stuff. I'm not sure how tricky they might be to build. On 30 Jun 2015 19:49, "Justin Rosander" <justinrosander@gmail.com> wrote:

the only drawback of MinGW is that it won't compile a csound~ for Max 64 bit since sadly Max SDK isn't working with MinGW 64 but only with VS wich works for both 32 and 64. bests and thanks. A. Il 01/lug/2015 00:45, "Rory Walsh" <rorywalsh@ear.ie> ha scritto:

Hi Steven, Before I install this. Could you tell me where the external is copied to on os x? It is more usual for max externals to be manually installed by the user since one often has a user-defined externals folder. Hi Steven, on Win7 the Packages default dir seems to beC:\Users\USER_NAME\Documents\Max 7\Packages C:\Users\USER_NAME\Documents\Max\Packages On Wed, Jul 1, 2015 at 10:20 AM, peiman khosravi <peimankhosravi@gmail.com> wrote:

Likewise, the default os x place should be ~/Documents/Packages/ and not Users/shared/Library/Max 7/, or better even, just have a zip file and no installer. Best, P On 1 July 2015 at 09:40, alfonso santimone <alfonso.santimone@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi All, Thanks for the feedback. I've gone ahead and uploaded the two csound~ builds to https://sourceforge.net/projects/csound/files/csound6/Csound6.05/. I'm assuming these builds are at least better than the previous ones so it's worth having up now. For the next release, I can modify the release scripts to put together a zip instead of an installer for both OSX and Windows. If someone could please file an issue on the github tracker for csound, that would be very much appreciated. Thanks! steven On Wed, Jul 1, 2015 at 7:41 AM, peiman khosravi |

Hi Alfonso, Could you file an issue on github for this? There was one person here that reported that the new build was working, so I'm not sure what's going on. Thanks, steven On Thu, Jul 2, 2015 at 1:34 PM, alfonso santimone |

Oh, sorry. I should have stated that I manually added E:\Documents\Max\Packages\csound~_v1.1.3 to my path in Max for Live. E:\Documents is the path to "My Documents" on my machine. On Thu, Jul 2, 2015 at 1:44 PM, Steven Yi <stevenyi@gmail.com> wrote: Hi Alfonso, |

Thanks for that information. It sounds like at least the package works once it can be found by Max. The zip distribution should move the onus of that to the user (we can add a README with clear instructions what to do). For the package not working for Alfonso, I'm not sure. It could be that he might other Csound's installed that are 64-bit, or some other issue. It'd be good to have something to track for that. On Thu, Jul 2, 2015 at 2:35 PM, Justin Rosander |
