Hello everyone ! I wanted to give an update regarding the meetup idea, in case anyone was wondering what was happening. I am afraid that I won't be able to help organize a meetup anytime soon, given my current schedule. The timing window has closed for me for now, sadly. If anyone feels like picking up the idea of a meetup for users, please be welcome to do so. If my schedule frees up again, I will let you know. Dear Edith, Thanks so much for the initiative to create a Csound meetup. I think your idea has sparked a lot of community activity, so we owe you a big thanks even if your planned meeting did not happen yet. I think perhaps Richard Boulanger's Csound meetings can grow into being that meeting place that you envisioned. That would be nice. I also hope that you will find time to participate, even if you don't find the time to schedule and host such meetings, and I hope for your continued presence in the whole community. | Edith has been an inspiration to me and to all of us. Building on my weekly Zoom meetings with my lifelong friend and Csound guru, John ffitch, I began hosting monthly Developer meetings on Zoom. We have met twice (and I would be happy to share links to these videos with everyone.) As a result of these meetings, I am planning on hosting Zoom Csound Concerts, Zoom Csound Jams, Zoom Csound AlgoRaves, Zoom Csound Interviews, Zoom Developer Chats, and (inspired by Edith) Zoom User Group Community Conversations with featured demos by guest presenters. I think that all of these emerging ideas, plans, and Zoom gatherings are branches springing from general user meetings as Edith had envisioned them. I hope so. In the very beginning stages, Edith and I were working together to realize her dream and I do plan to continue following her lead. I hope that she will join us and co-host Csound User Meetings with me on Zoom. In the our planning if the very first meeting, I got to know Edith’s Csound research and focus. Her work is very inspiring and it would be great, if she wants, for her to share that with all of us at a future meeting. Thank you Edith for your inspiration and for getting this ball rolling in me and in the international Csound community.
