hello, list.

i've always found that spat3d is one is of the most useful general purpose
spatialization tools available in csound, with good localization and
distance simulation, and also optional simulation of room acoustics
(difficult to tune, but not bad).

it has however a big drawback: it outputs only first order ambisonics.
given that csound has now very good quality ambisonics encoders/decoders
in the new bformenc1 and bformdec1 opcodes, i wonder if it would be too
difficult to adapt spat3d to optionally encode in higher orders. a second
order ambisonics spat3d is very high in my wish list!

Luis, it's not an opcode, but there are very good CSD orchestras for higher order ambisonics by Jan Jacob Hofmann:

I've used them to great avail! In principle they should implement everything, that you desire.

hi, ffanci, thanks for the link, very interesting material. 
i also have my own orchestras for spatialization, lots of code using a
variety of opcodes. i still think that expanding spat3d to encode in
higher order ambisonics would be a very nice addition.
