| Mike,
I tried both of your mcvcr80.dll installation suggestions. Unfortunately,
neither got rid of the dreaded 'rt' message (but see below).
I'm fairly sure I got both installations right. Both times, the file seemed
to end up in the desired location; with the MS download, it got installed in
a subdirectory of windows/system.
Wait ..... When I reinstall 5.07 *after* doing the MS download routine,
portaudio *does* show up and lead into performance - along, now, with an
incredibly detailed list of everything having to do with my 12 or so
available audio devices. Problem is: *no sound* during performance; no
messages either, and a normal exit (just zero amplitudes). So.....
I gather that the problems with OSC relate to the new installer method you
are using, since prior to 5.06 (Windows float) OSC was working. For now, at
least, does that mean if we want to use OSC we should revert to 5.05 or
earlier?
As always, thanks for all the thought, time and energy you put into these
things. (It would be one gigantic headache for me.)
