| I've put together all of my exploratory materials relative to sensekey,
gamepads and joysticks in the context of live Csound, and posted them on my
website at:
http://www.arthunkins.com/articles.htm
This entire effort is perhaps characterized as "making a mountain out of a
molehill," but at least now it's written up and documented. (Now I feel free
to move on!) A few of you may find it instructive. The description reads:
GAMEPADS AND JOYSTICKS AS CSOUND CONTROLLERS VIA SENSEKEY
Text file, and sample gamepad utilities that permit three models of
gamepad (MS Sidewinder and Sidewinder Pro, and Logitech Precision) as well
as a Maestro joystick to perform three recent realtime Csound compositions
of mine. (These utilities allow for adaptations of non-MIDI keypad versions
of "Beata Visione," "Et Iterum Venturus Est" and "What's in a Name?")
Compares results to comparable use of the sensekey opcode in ASCII keyboard
and external keypad versions.
Both the text file of the article, and a .zip archive also including 9
"utilities" that enable the keypad to gamepad conversions, are available for
download.
As always, feedback is valued.
