table directly to a file, as .aif or .wav?

No, but you can easily do it using tab, ftlen and fout

something like this

ilen = ftlen(itab)
idur = ilen/sr
alin linseg 0, idur, ilen,p3-idur,ilen
asig  tab  alin, itab
fout "myfile.wav", 2, asig
