Announcing the release of "Clairaudience: new music from electronic voice phenomena", feature music by David Bohn, James Bohn, Howard Kenty, Eric Lyon, Matt Malsky, Jay Mollerskov, Jeff Morris, Alan Shockley, & Jon Welstead. Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) can be defined as voices or sounds detected in recorded media that are unexplained by known physical principles. Nine composers were invited to create pieces using such sounds as the basis for their composition, resulting in a collection of twelve unique views of this phenomenon. The release concept is intriguing, but is there some place that perhaps some brief excerpts of the pieces might be heard? The release is probably too new to read any reviews of it...US$16 is a bit on the high end of my budget for leap of faith purchases... ...r... As a starting-point it is fairly limitless, you could literally go in any direction with it - drawing from the recordings of noise or the ideas behind 'Clairaudience'. I'd be interested to hear what you and others did.. Have you heard anything by Scanner? he cobbles sort of ambient stuff with recordings made from spying on peoples walkie talkies and mobile phones using a scanner. Some of its quite interesting...
