hello list,

maybe you consider this sort of things kitsch or plain crap, but i just
created a map for csound at frappr:

if you don't like the idea i can always delete it, but i for one would like
to see a map of csound users, at least those on this list. i think it would
be fun to know who we are, and where in the world we are.

so i hope you'll visit it and add yourselves to it!

I like this idea but the frappr.com website is ridiculously slow on my
computer.  (And I don't like having to sign-in to all of these "social"
sites just to participate :)

do you, or anybody else, know any other similar (free) service that's not so
bloated? i know this one just because it was announced at the vim mailing
list that a map for vim had been created. so i went there and added myself
to it, and thought it would be a good idea to have a csound map.

i see there are a few entries already, including some of our most
distinguished csounders. but i think it would be great if all the important
developers and other contributors were there, like john, istvan, michael
and all the rest. so please take a few minutes to point your browsers to
http://www.frappr.com/csound/ and add your marker. 

and don't forget to include a photo! some of us live in places where it's
difficult to attend those wonderful events where csounders get to meet each
other.

great! the map is growing a bit slowly but steadily, not 40 marks yet...

and only one in the southern hemisphere... mine. and andrés cabrera in
colombia, not southern hemisphere, but latin america, so we can count him
too. is there no one else in this part of the world? argentina, brazil,
chile? and what about australia, new zealand? absolutely no-one in africa?

i hope more of you will take some of your free time during the week-end to
add yourselves to the map!

Hi.

I am from Brasil, but I am not have not used csound for any 
significative work yet, and I refuse to subscribe myself to any sites 
which publish personal informations ("profiles").

(BTW, that site even can be loaded here (I have a dialup connection and 
I use to disable any images while browsing the internet).)
