I agree with Rory on this.

As a matter of fact, I get concerned about  in *realtime*
(including MIDI) csd's *when compiled* as standalone exe's. Users need to
customize these for their own systems, and so need to know about and be able
to manipulate these variables. At the same time, the composer needs to
specify "typical values" for such items in their csd's.

That's a good point, I will think about an effective way of dealing with 
this in the standalones that one can create with Lettuce. Perhaps a 
simple settings dialog that can e accessed from the main file menu.

I'm not exactly clear about this, but couldn't command line options be 
editable for the standalones. The values in the original .csd could be 
the default, which would be over-ridden by those entered into the 
standalone.

Yeah, it's just a matter of allowing users of the standalone's a way to 
alter the options, which they currently don't have.
