CsoundVST is both (a) a VST plugin version of Csound that does seem now to work with most hosts (and I think it works with WINE on Linux as well and (b) a standalone GUI frontend for Csound that runs on both Windows and Linux.

CsoundVST.exe works with WINE, however it also compiles and runs
natively on Linux which may be preferable if realtime performance is an
issue.

On Mac OS X, CsoundVST compiles everything correctly it just doesn't
link properly.

It seems like it should a trivial fix... are there specific endianness
#ifdef's or similar that exist ?
