Rory,

Further working with Lettuce today leads to some further observations:

1) FLTK widgets and MIDI input both work will in XP and ME. Wonderful.

2) When you make a change to a .csd and don't save it before running Lettuce
either crashes or shuts down. No problem if changes are saved first.
Actually I'd prefer an auto-save prior to running anyway (that's how I had
Csedit set). I'm sure this would solve any problem here.

3) The Information window querying about saving before program exit is
bothersome to me. I'd prefer it only pop up when there are unsaved changes
(asterisk following filename as in Csedit).

4) Is it possible for the program to autoload (on program open) the last
file used? Actually, I tried to set New File Template in Settings to
temp.csd, which seemed (??) to be the last file loaded, but this didn't
work - at least in part because this setting seems frequently to autochange
itself back to template.csd!! (Again, this was a handy feature of Csedit.)

5) Any chance of incorporating a Next File and Previous File arrow? This
feature was buggy in Csedit, and periodically drove me crazy. Incidentally,
I'm glad you've incorporated a print function; this is a feature I sorely
missed in Csedit.

Just a few thoughts and items for a wish list.

SubjectRe: Lettuce Questions
Hi Art, I've uploaded a new version today with the following improvements:

-Users can select colours for everything from text to message window....
-Sorted the annoying save before close issue, an asterisk will appear if
you change anything and trying to close with an asterisk will prompt a
save command....
-Compiler should run now, I had somehow made a rather foolish assumption
that peoples csd files would be less than 2000 characters! This was
causing the decode failed message to appear.
-It should now auto load the last saved file
-Users can now select their own prompt, this also works with bat files
for those of you who prefer MSYS to dos...
-Fixed a bug in the import orc/sco section, thanks to Chris Share for
letting me know about that...

With regards the "Could not copy files. Make sure you have permission to
write to this folder.", I will look into it, it's hard to debug here as
I don't have XP, are you sure that all files that came with Lettuce are
set to normal mode and not read-only? I know what function is causing
this, I just don't know why it only happens on ME. The .csd file you
sent yesterday runs for me here, although I have no controller to check
it out. Remember to set your settings once you install Lettuce otherwise
it will keep saying "user setting reset to default", or something like
that. I will look into your other suggestions soon. Later,
Rory.

Hi Rory,

I would be fine if you can put a version number to Lettuce (i.e. Lettuce
0.3). This way, we will notice the upgrade.

Thanks,

Marc

Sure, as it stands it is version 1.2, although I am not sure of the
correct convention when releasing versions of software? What's the
normal protocol?

SubjectRe: Lettuce Questions
I think I read some where that something like
X.Y.Z is common, where X changes with every major release
y changes with new versions, and z changes with little fixes and minor
alterations to versions. All a little confusing, anyway I get the point,
to avoid confusion change the version number! Cheers,

Rory.
