Hi, Rory,

I've been trying out your 32-bit Lettuce with Csound5.02 on both WinXP and
ME. A real nice piece of work that I hope to use as my new regular editor.

I'm experiencing a few glitches I'd like to pass along:

1) The command line prompt button doesn't work on ME (XP is fine). This is
because WinME doesn't have a cmd.exe (I get a "could not start:cmd" error.)
It would surely be nice to have an ME (and earlier) equivalent.

2) With ME (again XP is fine), clicking the Compiler button results in this
error: "Could not copy files. Make sure you have permission to write to this
folder." (I'm wondering if this error could be related to #1 above?) I see
no issue of permissions here.

3) With ME (XP is OK), the lower, message window is white, not black; so we
have white on white = invisible. The only way to see it is to
select/highlight text.

4) With both OS's, the black line numbers on the blue (top window) border
are near invisible - particularly, for me, on my ME machine/monitor which
shows slightly darker blue.

5) Finally, with the Compiler option, Win XP displays the standalone
performance window nicely, but when Run Csound is clicked (under File) the
run aborts quickly, with an "error starting Csound" message. Viewing the
performance window indicates where the "decode failed."

I'm attaching the real-time MIDI .csd for your perusal. There is no FLTK
(I'm gathering that Lettuce doesn't deal with FLTK, and is instead designed
to implement its own widget set, as I see no FLTK opcodes). I'm at a loss as
to why it doesn't run, as it works well when run normally in Lettuce.

Thanks again for a superb utility.

Thanks Art. I will look into these issues as soon as I can. As we speak
I am near finished implementing a feature to allow users to select both
the colour of the editor gutter and the line numbers. With regards
command prompt I will add a function to allow users to select their own
prompt, for instance some users may prefer to use a cwygin shell. As far
as I know the FLTK widgets do run with Lettuce, the only advantage I can
see with using my own GUI features is that is creates a standalone .exe,
and as for the compiler, I will check it out now...... it's getting late
here however so it may be tomorrow before I you get some answers. Thanks
for letting me know about these issues, I have only tried the software
on XP so was not aware of any issues on others OS's. Cheers,

Rory.
