| At one time I sold CDs with this stuff on it for five bucks, because I could
not remember where I got it from and people were always asking. Here is a
short list of some resources.
If you want the CD, Dr. B has a copy. Send him $20 and ask nice, he may send
you a copy. The proceeds can go to the csounds web site. No tax reciepts for
you or me. Just keep it simple. Give more if you like.
http://www.soundblaster.com/soundfont/downloads.asp
has the original sounfont editor, vienna in two versions. Not sure why but
there you go. Some tootorials too.
http://www.rgcaudio.com/sfz.htm
a VST soundfont thingie, and the way I usually muck with SF2.
Next a good font place
http://hammersound.net/cgi-bin/soundlink.pl
a list of lists about soundfonts
http://www.synthzone.com/soundfont.htm
a sound font compressor, check the other programs section of the page for
more toys
http://melodymachine.com/sfark.htm
also get sfPack from
http://www.personalcopy.com/sfpack.htm
but remember it is obsolete, so just use it to unpack any sfPack files you
may come across.
There ya go, enough info to keep your internet connection busy and your hard
drive full.
Since discovering East West Symphony Orchestra silver I have not done much
with soundfonts but not everyone is as silly as me, parting with thousands
for a bunch of samples.
I can feel Dr. B wincing at the tonality of it all. :-)
