Hi everyone, I´m going to buy a new soundcard with MIDI support, what soundcard do you use for MIDI and Csound? What is your opinion for a good notebook external soundcard? By the way, do you prefer the 15-pin MIDI connector or the In/Out MIDI connector? Thanks in advance, Robson _________________________________________________________________ Ganhe tempo encontrando o arquivo ou e-mail que você precisa com Windows Desktop Search. Ok, i´ve made up my mind in the economical way: I will keep my onboard sound card, and for the MIDI connectivity I´ll buy a M-Audio USB Uno, a little precious thing that converts MIDI in USB =) I´ll pray for the latency of my card to be good in the end of all configurations, cause I haven´t tested it yet but I´m accompanying the latency discussion. >From: "Robson Cozendey" |

Thanks Ben, I´m reading the specification right now, it seems very good indeed. If someone uses other hardware please let me know, Thanks, Robson >From: Ben McAllister |

It's got balanced mic inputs with phantom power, and the mic preamps are very quiet. Turn them up, and there is a noticeable lack of hiss. Add a couple of $100 large diaphragm condensers and you have yourself a respectable quality portable studio for a very reasonable amount of scratch. |
