You probably need to define a Windows environment variable PYTHONPATH that points to the directory where _CsoundVST.dll is found. Python uses this variable to find _CsoundVST.dll.

This and other pointers can be found in the Csound manual section on installation for CsoundVST.

Mike

A potential problem could be that the mechanism with which a user sets
an environment variable differs on Win2k than on WinXP (which appears
to be the default deployment target for the Csound5 Windows Installer).

Does the CsoundVST Windows installer implement the mechanism to change
the AUTOEXEC.BAT file in versions of Windows prior to Microsoft's use
of the NTFS ?

If not then this page is still relevant and I'm glad it hasn't been
deleted yet :)

I apologize; I often get the nomenclature between Windows (NT) 2000 and
(FAT32) Millenium Edition messed up.

In my original post I was referring to Millenium Edition.
