| Hi Art
I sorry but this does not relate to your email you sent me but it is csound
related.
My name is Walter Lepore and I live in USA New Jersey. I am a composer,
(learning Cakewalk Sonar) musician (guitarist), electronic tube amp builder
and study music theory and study tuning theory such as Just Intonation.
I desperately need help with installing csoundWin (winsound)?
I downloaded csound_win.zip to my desktop. I downloaded it from
ftp.cs.bath.ac.uk I then created a folder called "csound" in my "D"
partition on my hard drive that I use for installing programs.
I created 4 folders inside the csound folder and named two of them
"Analysis" (or "Analyses" depending where one lives) and "Bin". The other
folders are called something else (depending on whose "how to install
csound" web site you visit). Other example names are: output, sounds,
samples etc.
Please help me find an updated tutorial on how to install the latest version
on a windows 2000 operating system. I searched just about every available
link but found nothing but very outdated installation instructions using DOS
and Win95-98.
I installed Csound Windows version a few years back and didn't have time to
master it (while doing other family responsibilities). Unfortunately I don't
remember how I installed my original setup. I believe I did it with the help
of another online csound user.
Anyway...I now have time and would like to learn csound on a more serious
level.
I'm running a windows 2000 operating system with 512 MB memory and plenty
hard drive space.
I have the csound_win file ready to be unzipped into the csound directory.
After unzipping csound_win from csounds.com, the files included are:
winsound.exe
winsound64.exe
winsound.dsp
what do I do with these files???
I just need advice on installing so I can get started please.
I searched up and down Google all day looking for an up to-date installation
tutorial. I Found nothing I was comfortable with. Some earlier install
tutorials mentioned that I have to edit my autoexec.bat file. I don't
remember having to do this back in the year 2002 when I initially installed
csoundWin on a previous computer.
Thanks for your patience
