I'd like to try an 8-channel pan (circular) and would like suggestions as to
how to modify a normal quad pan (again with circular motion that already
works) to make one.

Would this work: 2 (quad) panners, the second displaced from the first by
+45 degrees - the first panner outputs designated 1,3, 5, 7, and the second
2, 4, 6, 8?

If so, what portion of a stored sine would be used for the second pan? Or
would the +45 degree displacement of the second pan be accomplished by some
kind of offset to kx and ky (like +.5 to each)?
