I was wondering if there is a tutorial for setting up and using
Csound5 on Windows. I teach a course on csound, and have recommended
Istvan's latest build to my windows students; however, many of them
need a tutorial on how to set everything up on Windows, and as I am
not a Windows user I cannot help them.

I can write one myself if one doesn't exist, but I would need to know
how to set the environment variables on windows and if there are any
other obstacles to overcome.

Thanks,
Julian

The easiest way is to unzip the package into the main drive so you get
it in C:\csound5. Then the opcode dir will be C:\Csound5\lib.
In WindowsXP you set the environment variables in the System control
panel under the Advanced tab, where you'll find there is a button
"Environment Variables" which leads to a dialog box that lets you add or
edit environent variables. In older versions the variables are declared
in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. Not much more than that to it.
