| Controller messages come in with channel numbers attached just like note
events do. Thus the problem of translating their numbers to the instruments
they are meant to apply to, is the same as that for note events. So I don't
understand what you mean by "what midi channel do you expect to be used by
midictrl?"
At any rate, your suggested manual note should clarify the situation
considerably. Thanks for volunteering to do this.
