i'm having problems with pvanal and pvread, csound 5 cvs june 25 2005:

it seems that the analysis file created by pvanal is always in the "new"
pvoc-ex format, independent of the extension used.

according to the manual, if you don't use the .pvx extension, the output
should be in the "old" pvc format.

the problem is that i can't get pvread to read the analysis files.

according to the original documentation, "In addition to the new opcodes,
the original Csound pvoc opcodes have been extended (and thereby with
enhanced audio quality in some cases) to read PVOC-EX files as well as the
original (non-portable) format." 

(by the way, i can't find that in the manual)

any help greatly appreciated, i don't find an equivalent to pvread in the
new pvs opcodes.
