?
@ CsoundQt on SourceForge - The CsoundQT 7.4 folder is empty - is there a CsoundQt6 anywhere on the horizon? @ CsoundQt on SourceForge the "Nightly" version of CsoundQt is quite old ?
- pre Csound6 I believe What to recommend to the remaining student that have not dropped out of the Csound class as a result of all the confusion and all the crashing this summer?
Not sure if any of you have experienced this on a Mac, but MIDI in CsoundQt is a nightmare (one must "Run in Terminal" - not particularly exciting for beginners) (any MIDI widget example is not working at all)
Install Csound6 - and csound~ silences all CsoundForLive instruments (people are asking for their $$ back - of course) (students can't get started) (Does Cabbage work with Csound6?)
Maybe it has changed by now, but the Csound6 release for the Mac did not include CsoundQt6 (for most beginners especially... CsoundQt is Csound.) Advice for my students would be most appreciated.
- I have been telling them to roll back to 5.19 and use and old version of CsoundQt (but MIDI is still a mess with "any" version of CsoundQt - thanks to Apple's latest OS updates (which they can not roll back from
as this is needed for other software in other classes.) - Dr.B. |

Yes! It will be there in the upcoming bug fix release for Csound6
Yes, the nightly build is pre Csound6, but I've been in contact with Johannes to set up a nightly build system for Csound6Qt.
I think the best thing would be to wait for the upcoming release.
I have experienced it. It's a 10.8 issue only, as I explained in another post, I have implemented a work around, but couldn't get around to releasing a binary. I'm focusing my time on the release for Csound6.
I think this is an issue that needs to be solved for Csound 6.00.1. The installer should not overwrite previous installations. This should certainly be possible as the new framework is more self-contained (I think it won't install stuff into /usr/local anymore).
Since the API has changed, it has taken a while for front-ends to catch up, but it's going to improve over time. I think Cabbage has not yet been ported, but frontends that don't rely on the API (like WinXsound should still work fine). I know we've been asking for patience for too long... But I think things should really stabilize once we get the bug fix for Csound6 out the door.

I know! Do a quick release of CsTouch and have them start with that :-D Ok, I admit it's just so I can get my dirty mitts on it myself. Regards, /Anders |

Yes, though it would get released instantly on Android's App Store, no need to wait for big bother to approve the app. All the best, Jacques |
