Subject[Csnd] Info: something for Pythonists to look forward to...
Just heard about a new book due in October:

"Making Music with Computers: An Introduction to Programming in Python"

Publishers URL with full table of contents:

http://www.crcpress.com/product/isbn/9781439867914

So the obvious question is whether they mention Csound at all.

The toc mentions jmusic... perhaps python is used for a variety of score generating tasks?

Regards,
Mike

We can but guess at this stage. Of course one of the authors (Andrew
Brown) is the author of jMusic, so I suppose it would be surprising if
there was not a reference to it here and there.

I thought jMusic was java-based.

Maybe the book uses Jython to code with Python and use the jMusic library.

Hi,

I recently met Andrew Brown, and we talked about the book. It is in fact focused on Jython and uses JMusic. It's focused more on event generation than on synthesis from what he told me. A very nice way of learning python, I think.

Cheers,
Andrés
