The Csound Showcase at http://csound-showcase.com is now open for business. This is a Web site and blog designed to showcase Csound pieces, Csound capabilities, composers, and other Csound-related material by running posted Csound pieces right in the Web browser, using the WebAssembly build of Csound. Anyone may view posts, run Csound pieces in soundfile, video, csd, or html format, rate pieces, and comment on posts. Registered users may post pieces in soundfile, video, csd, or html format. This is brand new, so comments are welcome. This is great! (And I know it took a lot of work, as I've been reading your Github updates). It worked right off the bat for me, running Google Chrome 57 on Linux. I will have to find something suitable to add to the collection. Thanks, Mike. - Dave On Wed, Oct 18, 2017 at 4:49 PM, Michael Gogins <michael.gogins@gmail.com> wrote: The Csound Showcase at http://csound-showcase.com is now open for |

This looks fantastic Michael, many thanks for this! From the menus at the right ("top posts" and "recent posts"), I could access and listen all the examples. Worked really fine, and found really nice and very well crafted music. Very nice. Quick question. If I wanted to post a CSD, what flags and headers are suitable in CSOptions? (i.e. samplerate, channels, buffer sizes, -odac, is output to file possible) Thorin On 19 Oct 2017 7:49 AM, "Michael Gogins" <michael.gogins@gmail.com> wrote: The Csound Showcase at http://csound-showcase.com is now open for |

All Csound output is to real-time stereo audio, via the WebAudio object in the browser. You can leave the options completely empty. Output to file is not possible on this Web site. It is possible with WebAssembly if you run your own Web server because then your file writing is to the same domain as your Web server. Hi, Really very nice! Is it possible that I can listen to the piece using Chrome, but not from Firefox? (perhaps I remember something about the impossibility in Firefox). If yes, there is any possibility to use Firefox for listening to the piece? Hi Michael, Thanks for this, I found the examples posted rather inspiring. (Really enjoyed experimenting with the parameters for Iain's Haiku I trombone instrument; definitely going to spend more time with gbuzz after that!). Some comments: 1. I'm not sure I like the 5 star rating system and would rather see a single-star kind of system or no rating system. 2. Wordpress makes editing posts easy, but the process for posting a CSD seems a little tricky to me. (Not sure if there's any way to modify the editor interface to have a link to the "add a post" instructions?) 3. I find viewing the current posts that have CSDs embedded a little intense/off-putting. For example, going to: https://csound-showcase.com/2017/10/18/csound-haiku-i-1/ I see a post that has a title and then just a huge amount of HTML/Csound code. The post has no description as to what it is. It's not until I hit "Play" that I get to the performance interface and things get interesting. I'd rather have the CSD and source code be accessible but not be the first thing I see regarding an entry. 4. I'm a little concerned about the long-term prospects of the site being Wordpress-backed. I am of the opinion that static site generators (like using Jekyll for csound.github.io, or perhaps Hugo) would give more flexibility for community maintenance, organization, and design. Thanks for the feedback. The ratings are for when there are many pieces on the site, to identify pieces worth hearing for newcomers. But I'm open to suggestions. I will modify the post page with a link to how to post. You can mix pieces with other stuff in one post. A dynamic site is essential for people who don't know git or how to manage a static site. Wonderful, loving it! Where can I find this csound.js file? Does it come with regular Csound install? Can midi or OSC be used? Really neat idea! It works in Chrome for me (62.0.3202.62, Windows 7 64-bit), but in Firefox 56.0, clicking the "Play" button does nothing. (Doesn't pop up a new tab like it does in Chrome.) At first I thought it might be an Ad-Block issue, but it doesn't work even with Ad-Block disabled. My Firefox version is > 52.0, so it should work, right? Curious. Reading CSD failed ... stopping [m (Plus the last line is repeated several dozen times in the output.) Really great site though. P.S. I agree with Steven that a huge CSD listing is a little off-putting before you get to the player, especially if you're trying to scroll through the "Home" page with multiple entries. Maybe the CSD display could be collapsed by default with a button to expand? Or truncated to ~20 lines as a preview, with some option to expand it. Did you click on the image for Black Mountain? This is an mp4 file. The "Play" button needs to be removed if there is no csd or html code. Oh, my mistake, that does explain why it doesn't have the rest of the CSD showing. Yeah, the MP4 playback works just fine. The "Play" button was just confusing me for that one.On Fri, Oct 20, 2017 at 4:22 PM, Michael Gogins <michael.gogins@gmail.com> wrote: Did you click on the image for Black Mountain?
