just a first draft of a piece i'm working on.
This is a micro homage to Csound mailing list ...

Mail author and subject will be translated to waveform
while text will be a score.

For now just a joke but who knows ... in a future ...

Hey, this is fun. I'm afraid I'm much too mainstream to really enjoy it
as music, but with your description I am intrigued by it, as a riddle. A
conundrum to solve, a language to learn. Judging by the frequencies of
different pitches, I suppse, one could try to reconstruct the mails, if
you don't insert randomness in the translation from text to score. :)

On the waveforms: there was one that I liked and that is very similar to
something I'd like to do. How do you create them? With additive
synthesis?

like you i really do not enjoy the result as music :)

Well i'm a classical trained musician, and i mean really classical.

Anyway seriously speaking the idea was to create a new language

and i mean really with signs as alphabet etc. But my knowledge

is too much trivial for this task. But in a future, who knows.

About waveforms:

yes is additive synthesis using two oscillator reading author name

and subject. It is simply a conversion of character to numeric value.

This value is obtained from a custom although trivial table (something

like a=1, b=2, etc.)

If you want i attached the csd with necessary files.

Hoping to have done it right.
