I was always interested about the materialist aspects of music and such, but
it seems we're very far from having some sort of materialist general theory
of music. Even things as the feelings or sensations different pieces evoke
seem fairly difficult to quantify, and why two pieces are heard as "similar"
in some sense is a very hard question. If anyone has any sources which touch
on this I'd like to read them. Or if anyone is thinking of any interesting
experiments....
