Subject[Csnd] csound~ sample-rate question
Hello,

I don't know if many people in this list are familiar with csound~
maxmsp external, but here is my question.

If the sample-rate of csound csd and maxmsp patch are not the same I
get an error in the max window saying that the sample-rates don't
match, but the csd still runs. What I don't understand is what is
actually happening in such a situation (does csound~ resample the
signal?). And also is there a way to have csound~ automatically match
the sample-rate of the orchestra?

Thanks in advance

Best,

Peiman

csound~ will not resample when sample rates don't match.

However, I recently learned about the --sample-rate and --control-rate
command line flags which you can use to override the settings
in your orchestra header.

Hello,

Thanks very much for the reply.

Ah great!! I didn't know about these commands. That sorts out the problem. I was trying with macros yesterday and it wouldn't work inside max so it's good to know about --sample-rate.
