I 'm interested in using my Csound instruments within live. If I had the dough I would have a proper copy of Live but dont, and I dont have Max. Can anyone explain the differences between using the new CSound for live utilities or max vs. using cabbage to create a VST? Thank you. |

Max4Live will let you run Csound instruments in Live, as long as you have Max4Live installed. It's costly but nice stuff. Cabbage will let you create plugins that you can use with any VST host. Cabbage is still in its infancy but there are plenty of people beta testing with good results. On 10 May 2012 21:09, JER BOK |

If you are on Windows, you can use CsoundVST in any VST host. I have tested it in VSTHost, Buzz, Cubase, and now I am trying to get it to work in Sibelius (it works, but I need to understand how to make it easier to configure). Regards, Mike On Thu, May 10, 2012 at 4:18 PM, Rory Walsh |

Thanks. My stuff is pretty simple... I'll give cabbage a try tonight. Rory, I think it was you mentioning scanned synthesis a few days ago... I had never heard of it as the majority of my experience with CSound is over 10 years old. While that sort of synthesis seems geared toward string sounds it also seems like an interesting platform for other sorts of sounds/creations, such as speech sounds or even interactive rhythm creation. Do you know of any csd files online utilizing scanned synthesis which I might be able to look over?
