Subject[Csnd] [OT] moog's birthday
someone sent me this link:

https://www.google.co.jp/

it's supposed to be an hommage to bob moog's birthday. apart from that, i
have no info except from what you can see on the page, which is nothing.
you can record up to 4 tracks on the virtual tape recorder on the left.
tweaking the knobs i could only get a vague idea of what's each one. no
idea either about the synthesis engine. pretty nifty, though.

tsk, tsk, victor, we can't give any new toys...

i never had much experience with analog synthesizers, but i agree that
the components in this thing don't seem very similar to what i remember
from the moogs. sounds nice, though. any ideas about the synthesis engine?

it's a kinda demo for their browser and some new-ish web technologies:
http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2012/05/tribute-to-bob-moog-sonic-doodler.html

i don't know that this page will hold the answers to all of your
technical questions, but maybe it will point in the right direction.

i read that a flash component is used for browsers that are not chrome.

Nice reminder of the great man! Doesn't work in my browser, so I'm off to play the real Moog that Deutsch gave me. The modular that I learned on is sitting in a glass case:

That's pretty fun.
The mod wheel implementation is very strange though...

yes, I suspected it was the Web Audio API, which is mainly Javascript. The guys from Faust have been playing with compiling DSP graphs into Javascript code, but it is still a little bit slow for most useful things (I think).
