It seems that the installation problem only occurs when I specify a 
*non-default* install location. Using the default, there are no warnings 
about FluidSynth or either ot those copied below.

The realtime virtual MIDI keyboard message is still present, and the run 
hangs at the same point as 6.00.1 (requiring two CTRL-X to exit). Thus the 
MIDI bug relating to Csound6 and Windows XP remains.

As I understand this was not build on XP, so it's unlikely that it will ever run correctly there. I think it might be similar to expect that Csound build for OSX 10.8 will run on OSX 10.3 or 10.4.
