[Csnd] Request for testing: csound~ for csound6 (OSX)

Subject[Csnd] Request for testing: csound~ for csound6 (OSX)
Hi All,

I've managed to get csound~ working with Csound6 and updated to work
with Max 6.1.3. I have only this to test with, so am looking for help
testing. So far it seems to work running with Max in 32-bit and
64-bit modes. If everyone who uses Max/csound~ could test this:

http://www.kunstmusik.com/csound~.zip

and report any issues here, that'd be great. To note: I did work to
get this to work with 6.1.3 which uses 64-bit doubles (dsp64). I have
not tested this on earlier versions of Max/MSP and do not know if
it'll work. I do not have Ableton Live to test with either, but I
have a report that it works there with 32-bit and 64-bit mode (meaning
running i386 or x86_64).

The initial reports are good on it working. If user reports here are
good, I'll look at packaging this for the next csound release with the
installer. (Most likely it'll be a separate installer that comes with
the DMG that you'd click to install after running the main installer).

Also to note: Davis supported this on Windows as well as OSX.
Currently the CMake file has been setup as far just getting things to
work on OSX. I don't know if I have the available resources to do the
work to get csound~ working on Windows (my Win7 virtual machine is all
messed up right now and will take a fair amount of time to re-setup).

Thanks!
steven

Hi Steven,

I can confirm that it is not working on max 6.1.2. Just downloading 6.1.3.

Will write back in a few mins.

Best,

Oh wow, good news. It works when I open max in 64bit, which makes sense. Note that you need to right click on the max app file and select 'Get info' then untick 'open in 32bit mode'.

But now non of my other max externals (and there are tons of them) are running! which also makes sense. So I guess if the next csound packages comes with both 32bit and double, it would be nice.

But this is really amazing Steven. I'm really really indebted to you for making this work.

Cheers,
Peiman
