Any Shadows fans out there? I became one when I heard the first few notes of Apache. My guitar playing is definitely influenced by them. (As my composing is by the Beatles) Now trying to get this great echo sound from Hank is not so easy. There are numerous sites out there that give information and settings for echo gear (e.g. the Zoom 508), and apparantly many songs use different echo settings It must be some multi-tap, tape delay, in general. I wonder if there are Csounders who have gotten close with Csound... Well... perhaps a little distantly related to the Shadows... I once tried emulating the guitar sound of Mike Oldfield. I didn't really get close timbre-wise, but I did find my instruments sounded much more like Oldfield guitars when I emulated his playing style, rather than fiddling with the timbre. It's surprising how much a difference it makes when you pay attention to the performance details. On Thu, Oct 3, 2013 at 2:25 AM, zappfinger <zappfinger@gmail.com> wrote: Any Shadows fans out there? Yes, you got a good point here. In Hank Marvin's case his playing style is a combination of his use of vibrato and bending, tonal choice, melodic lines etc. Effects only add some cream to the cake...
