Subject[Csnd] having troubles running csound6.01.0u1-OSX10.8-x86_64

Hi,

I've been away from Csound for many years but have continued to monitor the list. The developments in Csound over the last year have really rekindled my interest.
The version is for iOS rally looks interesting.

I am having some problems; I installed csound6.01.0u1-OSX10.8-x86_64 on OSX 10.8.5.  Using the Csound-Qt-d-cs6 interface, I have been running some of  the floss examples and will occasionally get the error below and no sound from the orc/sco. Odd thing is if I restart QT the same orc/sco plays. I have been using the FLOSS manual examples from basics and get this error.

Also when using the csound~ object in max this will occasionally happen as well with the FLOSS manual examples for max.

Additionally the QT Canonical Manual says version 5.18 and I'm wondering if something is wrong with my install or if it just hasn't been updated yet.

Appreciate any help you can offer.

Chris

The problem you have is with CsoundQT, not exactly Csound. Try getting the latest CsoundQT from
http://qutecsound.sourceforge.net/ which uses its own MIDI interface (making sure that “use Csound MIDI modules (unstable)” is NOT
checked (in the CsoundQt Preferences).

Hi,

You will need the latest nightly build:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/qutecsound/files/CsoundQt/nightly-osx/

Cheers,

Btw the latest nightly build is missing the Floss and McCurdy examples

Hi Chris,

Good to hear that solves it.
Yes, I haven't included them in the nightly build to keep it small. Maybe I should?

Cheers,

Hi Joachim,

OK, Now nightlies include the McCurdy collection. They are really big now as they bundle both Csound and the McCurdy collection, but they will serve to test better.

Cheers,
Andrés

        max.

Additionally the QT Canonical Manual says version 5.18 and I'm
wondering if something is wrong with my install or if it just
        hasn't been updated yet.

Appreciate any help you can offer.
