Dear community, I wanted to test the file tuning05b.csd , from http://www.csounds.com/journal/issue12/TuningExs.zip Unfortunately, it didn't work properly with my kubuntu machine. I guess, it has to do that I don't have QuteCsound there. At http://qutecsound.sourceforge.net/ I've read, that QuteCsound is in the official repositorys of ubuntu, but when I type apt-cache search qutecsound in the terminal, nothing happens. When I tried the same file with windows, I could hear something, but in a very bad sound quality. How could I correct this? |

The most common reason for a bad sound in Windows is that you need to set the buffers to a higher number. To do this, open up the Configuration dialog box. In the Run tab, the top two items should both be checked. In my system, I have -b set to 2048 and -B to 4096. This works. (You should always use a power of 2 here.) I really don't understand why there's no link to QuteCsound on the Front Ends page of csounds.com. Seems like an omission that would be easy to fix. --JA kontrapunktstefan wrote: > > Dear community, > I wanted to test the file tuning05b.csd , from > http://www.csounds.com/journal/issue12/TuningExs.zip > Unfortunately, it didn't work properly with my kubuntu machine. > I guess, it has to do that I don't have QuteCsound there. > At http://qutecsound.sourceforge.net/ I've read, that QuteCsound is in the > official repositorys of ubuntu, but when I type > apt-cache search qutecsound > in the terminal, nothing happens. > When I tried the same file with windows, I could hear something, but in a > very bad sound quality. > How could I correct this? > > Send bugs reports to this list. > To unsubscribe, send email sympa@lists.bath.ac.uk with body "unsubscribe > csound" > |
