Subject[Csnd] UnTwelve and 60x60 call for works
Hi Csounders,

On the heels of a really fun and exciting competition, UnTwelve is at it again, this time in collaboration with Vox Novus, who are best known for "60x60"...60 works by 60 composers in 60 minutes.

We are presenting a concert at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago on April 27th, 2010. There is a call for works of 1 minute (or slightly less) on prerecorded media---a perfect way to show your creativity and Csound chops.

This event has a microtonal slant--the submitted works must be done outside of the confines of 12-tone equal temperament. Details, rules, regulations, and descriptions of the project are available by checking out the relevant info at http://www.untwelve.org

Your work for the Chicago show is then automatically eligible to be picked for an ICMC/60x60 event called "360 degrees of 60x60"---6 concerts sponsored by the Canadian McGill University in Montreal.

I do hope many of you Csound gurus will give it a shot and send your entry!

Best,
Aaron Krister Johnson

Hehe, pretty funny submission page they have there at ICMC. You have
to fill in the submission form, including name, address, phone number,
etc., and zip it together with the audio file. Then you have to make
sure the file you upload contains "no author information".
Well I submitted something, here's hoping whoever checks submissions
won't be too turned off by the impossibility of following all their
submission rules!

Hello…!

I ask a few things for participation:

1. where the works can be uploaded?
2. who work from 60 seconds to load?
3. the deadline is fixed at 31 December 2009 or 7 January 2010?

thanks you!

I am just starting work on my submission. This is actually not
procrastination. You see, I'm a very anal-retentive/perfectionistic sort of
person. It has taken me years to learn that I am always helped by
assignments with short deadlines. It breaks me out of perfectionism. I
actually am using this competition as a way of practicing working quickly
and not reflecting very much.

Anyway, since I will probably be submitting tomorrow at one minute before
the deadline, please let me know if you run into any problems so I can work
them out ahead of time.

Thanks,
Mike
