[Csnd] problem using soundin in QuteCsound

Subject[Csnd] problem using soundin in QuteCsound
Following up on an (I think) unanswered question from the QuteCsound user's
forum. Apologies if this is beating a dead horse....

I'm using soundin with audio files named "soundin.1" "soundin.2" etc. (very
old skool, I know!) The files are in a folder that's in the same folder as
my .csd file. I have SFDIR and SSDIR set in the QuteCsound preferences but
the program isn't finding the files.

If I "Run in term" however, the files are found and the project is correctly
rendered in the terminal. It also works as expected if the audio files are
in the same directory as the .csd file and I 'run' (as opposed to 'run in
term').

I'm on a MacBook Pro with 10.5.8, Csound 5.11 and QuteCsound 0.4.3.

Any help would be much appreciated!
John

I suppose this might answer your query:
http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/qa/qa2001/qa1067.html

Just set SFDIR etc this way.

Victor

Hi,

Yes, this has been fixed in svn (will be out on the next release). In
the meantime, you can do as Victor suggests and set the environment
variables globally instead of inside QuteCsound.

Cheers,
Andrés

Thanks Victor for the Environment variables how-to (which solved the
problem), and thanks Andrés for the update on QuteCsound (and for all your
work on the program)!
