Subject[Csnd] csound cubase interface windows
Dear List,
i'm using win vista, csound 5.11 (pre-release of Mr. Gogins), an old cubase
se3 (the poor cubase).
Now, after last installed csound i have some trouble with cubase that
crashes and sometimes tell me about rewire (that i do not use) . Because i
have a new interface (motu ultralite) that seems have some trouble with
vista (but for now it seems to me all ok about her), i need to understand
that:

is it possible that csound 5.11 (beta with vst) 'conflict' with cubase se3?
(Motu with csound seems ok).

Thanks,
i'm a little bit in confusion.

ciao,
fran.

Csoundvst should not open devices, uses the host for all io, so cannot conflict, but check your flags.

Thanks Mr. Gogins,
but i'm not able to uderstand what happens.
I've tried to reinstall both cubase than csound, but when i open cubase this
crashes in opening (seems when try to init rewire.dll). Then i've
uninstalled both, and again install cubase and 'old' csound 5.10.1.
Now cubase start ok (but i have not testet well yet).
I don't know. Csound uses rewire?
For now i will work with csound5.10 (and python25), but i hope to resolve
this problem.
(Maybe sometimes i will have some money for buy a better and new version of
cubase!).

Always Thanks,

ciao,
fran.

Neither CsoundVST nor Csound use Rewire in any way.

I used to use CsoundVST with Cubase 3. I do not think there should be
a problem.

I do not currently have Cubase 3, so I can't test your setup. Download
VSTHost and see if you can get CsoundVST to work in that, if not,
email me your VSTHost setup for CsoundVST and I will see if I can get
it to work.

Hope this helps,
Mike
