Tutunwun is a study of 5-TET and it's tritave equivalent, which in my notation I call 3h8TET. It is done using timbre-matching additive synthesis using Csound and blue.
You can hear or download the song at http://soundcloud.com/brian-wong/tutunwun
I have attached a copy of the .blue file for those interested in code.
Part one of the piece is a tuning progression alternating between the two tunings.
Part two is an algorithmic assisted counterpoint mixing lines in both tunings. Here I have used a new (to me at least) method of using blue. The score is entered using a Pianoroll soundObject, and a Python noteprocessor captures the score into Python variables, which are then used to create the two counterpoint lines with some constrained random variation in notes. This method would work with any score generating blue soundObject.
Part three is a big old drone chord created with notes from both tunings and some sparse bell-like lines.
