Hi Giorgio,

Nicely done, I enjoyed listening to your piece. It's a rainy Sunday
morning here, your sounds brought some light into the room.

I've enjoyed all the recent pieces posted here. As a consequence, I've
signed up for a Soundcloud account, but before I upload anything I
wondered what file formats/resolutions (WAV, MP3, OGG, ?) you guys use
to upload your works. Suggestions appreciated, thanks.

Best,

dp

Soundcloud accepts a few different sound files but compresses them to something like 128k mp3, that's why you have length limit and not a size limit with your account.
When we started our page with my improv group, we tried uploading .wav or high quality ogg and found that caveat out... I can't remember the actual bitrate they use but it's pretty low. Easy to find out though by downloading a track a seeing what you end up with.

Cheers

Al

All good, soundcloud is nice,
you can upload in your preferred full resolution quality,
it will be comressed for streaming playback, but you can enable "allow
downloads" so that it is possible for those who want to enjoy the work
in higher quality

Yes, no matter what format you upload it will convert it to a really
low res mp3 format anyway. Depending on the piece the result can sound
really crap! Basically any transient impulses with broad-band noise
content sound really distorted.

Which version of Csound do I need for running the file?
