Subject[Csnd] no Jack midi output
hi,

I like to run Cmask thru Csound5.08 to my external FM synth with the midi
output. This was ok using Alsa, but recently i switched to the JACK system
(Linux). The audio output works fine but midi output does not.
I use the following command (from within Blue):

csound -d -+rtaudio=JACK -o dac:system:playback_ -b64 -d -+msg_color=false
-Q2

Csound runs fine from the audio output but there is no csound midi output to
be seen in the Connections window from Qjackctl.
The message window from csound itself says:

  0: Midi Through Port-0 (ALSA)
   1: M Audio Audiophile 24/96 MIDI (ALSA)
   2: qjackctl (ALSA)
MIDI: selected output device 2: 'qjackctl' (ALSA)

but, like i said, there's no Csound2 midi output generated Qjackctl. Also
the documetation doesn't mention a Jack midi output. Will this be
implemented soon?

Menno

Hello,

no problem, i will wait a while.
At the moment AlgoScore has a Jack Midi out that works
well but that's the only program i know about that
uses Jack Midi.
I assume other programs will soon follow.

Thanks for the info.

IIRC no-one else answered this mail.

Here are some other JackMIDI-aware apps:

Non Sequencer
http://non.tuxfamily.org/

Dino
http://dino.nongnu.org/

AZR3 organ
http://ll-plugins.nongnu.org/azr3/

LinuxSampler
http://www.linuxsampler.org/

JackMIDI support is also planned for QTractor and Ardour.

Best,
