The path you described was the first one I attempted to follow. I was convinced that the settings that are not displayed as "controls" are not saved in the FXP/FXB files because of a couple of applications that probably don't work completely in this area. But it is false: the whole state of the plug-in is saved, even if applications like Chainer or Csound don't show a specific setting in the list of parameter. This time I used Ableton Live to save the FXB file and, as soon as I loaded the bank file in another instance, the VSTi was ready to work. Now I'm going to load the FXB in Csound. Thank you very much! ----- Messaggio originale ----- Da: Michael Gogins <gogins@pipeline.com> A: csound@lists.bath.ac.uk Inviato: Giovedì 24 aprile 2008, 19:03:15 Oggetto: [Csnd] Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: vst4cs survey I haven't done this, but I think it would be possible as follows. Design your instrument and get it working the way you want in another VST host. Make it the default preset in a bank. Save that bank. In your Csound orchestra, in the global or header section of the orchestra, load that bank into the VSTi. Hope this helps, Mike -----Original Message----- >From: csound username <csound_username@yahoo.it> >Sent: Apr 24, 2008 11:57 AM >To: csound@lists.bath.ac.uk >Subject: [Csnd] Re: Re: Re: Re: vst4cs survey > >No, I'm talking of vst4cs. It does not seem to have opcodes for loading and saving a single preset. I don't understand way but if set up one of those VSTi who has extra parameters (for examples needs to load a patch or select a sample set etc.etc.), the whole state of the instrument is saved when I use Nuendo and when I open the project, I find the VSTi in the very same situation, ready to work. I can't find a way to have the same result with Csound. >> >>Yes, you can open the built-in plug-in editor and setup the VSTi by hand (I think, I didn't check it yet but you have an opcode for that) but I wanted to use Csound to make batch processing that I can't make with Nuendo. In this case I would need to re-edit the VSTi configuration manually each time I run Csound which completely eliminates the advantages of batch processing. >> >>It's sad! >> >>----- Messaggio originale ----- >>Da: Michael Gogins <gogins@pipeline.com> >>A: csound@lists.bath.ac.uk >>Inviato: Giovedì 24 aprile 2008, 16:37:02 >>Oggetto: [Csnd] Re: vst4cs survey >> >>I usually use only the estimable Pianoteq, since it provides a physical model of a piano sound with configurable parameters that is superior to any other synthetic piano.
