Subject: University of Bath research - Survey on mobile phone audio notifications: "Why beep-beep!?"
Date: Mon, 28 Apr 2008 22:17:04 +0100
Please help with my research by taking part in this *new* online survey.
It will only take up to 10 minutes (but you can stop at any time!)
and you will get to have your say on how mobile phones should sound!
The Requirements:
Have PC speakers (in a low noise environment) or headphones.
Have no hearing problems.
Have your browser to accept cookies.

The Research:
As part of my PhD in Human Computer Interaction at University of
Bath, I am exploring the amount of information non-speech everyday
sounds can carry, when heard out of context. Can they make mobile
phone notifications more meaningful and interesting? My aim is not to
create more notifications or advertising, but merely to make audio
notifications more useful for those who want them. Why should we
stick to the old boring "beep-beep"?
Thank you!!
