Subject[Csnd] general question regarding CsoundQT
Hi All

just a question that has been bugging me about CSoundQT (on the mac)

I've been using some pretty big scorefiles lately - a couple of thousand instrument calls and 3 big functiontables for each for example.

The scores take absolutely ages to load into the editor (sometimes longer than they actually take to compile!) while an ordinary text editor displays them instantly

What is CSoundQT doing that slows this process down?

Nye

Hi,

Is it just when loading the files or editing them?
Which version of CsoundQt are you using?
It might be my fault - in some point I added word completion for all words in
the file . The checking function is triggered on every keypress and it might
get slow with very long files.
In fact Andrés asked me to rewrite it using another solution but I never
accomplished it though...

Can you try with CsoundQt 0.7.2 or 0.7.0 to see if it is better there?

best!
tarmo

Hm,

if 0.8.2 then it's not my piece of code. Can you send your long csd to test?
