Here's what I just noticed

itriples (optional) -- percentage of triple strikes. Default is 20%.

According to the code, the default is 2500Hz for freq1 and 4000Hz for freq2

Since this is an optional parameter, I'd like to know more about what the default value is.

Yes I have come across a few issues too. It would be good to have a place to submit manual errors and suggestions.

Cheers,

Hi,

The manual is written in docbook-XML, so it is somewhat hard to edit,
but we're always looking for eager people who want to do it. You
should first grab the source from git:

git://csound.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/csound/manual

Then you can edit the files and send the changes to the development
list, or ask John for git access and commit yourself. The manual
repository contains a readme file with details about building the
manual from the docbook-xml sources.

Cheers,
Andrés

Thanks Andres,

A while ago there was also talk that every opcode should have its own page, which isn't currently the case. (tab and tabw bing two examples.) That is certainly something that I would like to be involved with when I have the time a couple of weeks.

Best,
Peiman

Subject[Csnd] Re: fixing manual errors
Hi

thanks Aurelius and others for finding and reporting errors and new ideas
for the manual.

I have quickly copypasted your suggestions in a blog page:
http://www.csounds.com/node/1577
,for reference and that it will not be forgotten, and hope to be able to
work on the manual in the days to come.
I'm pretty busy right now, but suggestions for improvements of the manual
are very welcome and will be noted there!

There is a list of opcodes that are still without a decent example:
http://www.csounds.com/node/1394
If anyone can help out on making this list shorter, please let me know.

thanks,
Menno

Alright Victor I'll answer my own question.  How to find the missing default?  Grab the source from sourceForge, open the Opcodes directory, no sign of guiro, grep for it instead, find that a bunch of the physical models are in phisem.h/c and find the #define for  GUIR_GOURD_FREQ2  FL(4000.0)!  :)

The list of undocumented/exampled opcodes seems rather out of date.

Would it be possible to add a file to the manual git with the aberations,
so it will be easy to update when examples are added?

SubjectRe: [Csnd] Re: fixing manual errors
i agree, this should be noted in the manual, but...
I run Ubuntu and have made a blog on how to install "3th-party" opcodes like the STK.
They are not an official part of Csound, or are they?
If so, they should be packaged for every system and there will be no need for information  on every STK opcode page.

Same goes for the Loris opcodes.

Menno

you're right, needs to be in the manual.

Yes, I am on OSX.  Why aren't they distributed on OSX?  Can I get them?

Should probably be noted in the manual which distributions these opcodes are part of.

Not sure, what system? The STK opcodes are not distributed in the OSX releases. Maybe also not on linux.

Right, so all the other opcodes in the manual are in my system, why aren't these?  What do I need to do?

This just tells you the opcode is not present in your system.

Okay, maybe this belongs in a new thread, but if someone can help me, I can help put into the manual.

Is there a trick or installation requirement to get the STK opcodes to work?  If there is, perhaps there should be a "top" page in the docs for STK much like there is for the zak system in which the requirements are explained.

error: syntax error, unexpected T_IDENT_S, expecting T_OPCODE or ','  (token "STKFlute") line 22:
>>>asig STKFlute <<<

The list of undocumented/exampled opcodes seems rather out of date.

Would it be possible to add a file to the manual git with the aberations,
so it will be easy to update when examples are added?
